128th Air Refueling Wing Executes Project Resiliency
MILWAUKEE - 128th Air Refueling Wing executes "Project Resiliency," a three-day initiative focused on the mental, physical, and spiritual military readiness of service members, Sept. 18-20, 2026.
The three-day program spanning over the course of the drill weekend addressed the importance of operational and personal resilience, comprehensive fitness, and suicide prevention.
"Our Tactical Pause focused on making time and space for Airmen to connect, learn from one another, identify their personal strengths, and prepare for the challenges ahead," said 128 ARW Director of Psychological Health Jane A. Collingwood. "Through this experience, we reinforced that caring for our mental health and investing in meaningful connections are essential to sustaining ourselves, our families, and our mission. My hope is that every Airman leaves knowing they don't have to carry life's challenges alone, and that the same courage, compassion, and commitment they bring to our wing can strengthen every part of their lives. We are resilient individually, stronger together, and ready to face whatever comes next."
Due to operational stressors, high operational tempos, and the evolving nature of future threats, Project Resiliency helps to strengthen unit resilience, wing cohesion, mental toughness, and tactical readiness through specialized training. Project Resilience included a "Refuel Resilience Walk," a blood drive, training seminars, and group fitness workouts.
"Our Airmen carry the weight of high-tempo operations, deployments, separation from loved ones, uncertainty, and the demands of balancing military service with civilian careers and family life," said Collingwood. "This weekend created space to acknowledge those realities, strengthen our mental, physical, social, and spiritual well-being, and remind one another that struggle is part of being human, and that reaching for help is an act of strength, not weakness."
Through readiness training of mental, physical, and spiritual health, the 128 ARW ensures that it remains lethal, connected, and always ready to generate unstoppable airpower through resilient Airmen.
